Lari Don grew up surrounded by monsters – she’s written about them in her latest blog here, and she’s challenged readers to work out where she grew up by using the geographical clues she’s left lying around…
That’s authors for you!
Those monsters have inspired many of the characters in Lari’s picture books and novels, and the people at Floris, the publisher of her latest picture book, The Treasure of the Loch Ness Monster, wonderfully illustrated by Natasa Ilincic, are hoping you’ll be inspired too. They’re inviting everybody to contribute to their Map My Monster project.
So, either you can draw a picture of a monster that lives near you, or – if you don’t want to do that or live in a monster-free area – just make one up.
You can read about what to do and where to send your pictures here.
You can buy The Treasure of the Loch Ness Monster in your local bookshop or borrow it from the library.
It’s stunning!
