It’s been an odd summer without book festivals to visit.
But there was something rather nice about sitting in the comfort of my own home, on a frankly disgusting, misty-moisty August day in Edinburgh watching an Edinburgh International Book Festival event during which Lari Don and Eilidh Muldoon talked us through the way they worked on their recently published anthology, Fierce, Fearless and Free.
I even learned how to draw a smug character – quite appropriate in the circumstances.
Lari’s renowned storytelling skills were not in the least depleted by her on-going battle to recover from a nasty time with Covid 19 – I’m fairly sure that virus will be translated into one of her famous baddies in the future. And Eilidh’s ability to capture a ridiculously action-packed story within a single image in front of our eyes was breath-taking.
And through the magic of technology – you too can watch these two Formidable Females, here.
You can buy a copy of Fierce, Fearless and Free through the Edinburgh International Book Festival‘s on-line shop here, You can also buy it through your local bookshop, borrow it from your local or school library, or order it on-line here.
